Story #1: Lucas and Olga

This mail order bride story might look at first sight. Lucas, a 38-year-old sales associate from Eureka Springs, met Olga (a 25-years-old secretary from Chortkiv, Ukraine) on one of the biggest mail order bride websites, SofiaDate. In 3 months after their first real-life date, Lucas proposed to Olga.

But this story isn’t that simple.

Olga has always been charmed by the United States. Life in the US seemed like a magazine catalog for her. She wanted to move from that small hometown she lived, studied, and worked in—that’s why she dreamt of meeting an American man from a huge city.

“I didn’t want to flee for a better life”, she says. “It’s not about money or about the monthly salary in America and Ukraine, I just wanted to live in this amazing country”, Olga adds. Aurora, a 7-year-old little girl of Clara, says she loves her new life, family, and city. That’s not surprising at all, taking into account the number of playgrounds and nice public spaces in New York.

Story #3: Oliver and Sofia

A few months ago, Oliver, a 25 years old engineer from New York City, decided to visit a site where some of his friends chatted with Latin mail order brides. That site was called LatiDate, and that’s where he met his destiny. Her name is Sofia.

Sofia, a 20-year-old student from Tijuana, always thought American guys made better partners than Mexican men. She has always been impressed with the US—she never visited this country, but she knew everything about the Golden Gate Bridge and other San Francisco symbols, Times Square, Central Park, Las Vegas, and 64 Perry Street.
